Introduction to the course.
Welcome to...
Creating and Designing Myofascial Self-Treatment HEPs, Classes and Workshops
I'm excited to share my expertise and support your healing, and of course, your clients' healing, with this course!
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Apply the principles of myofascial release to safely stretch and release the body.
- Utilize simple equipment effectively to enhance and deepen myofascial releases.
- Develop a personalized myofascial self-treatment program tailored to address individual body needs and concerns.
- Design a targeted myofascial self-treatment home exercise program (HEP) for a specific diagnosis or problem area.
- Create and structure a class or workshop to teach clients the principles and techniques of myofascial self-treatment.
I believe it is best to start by learning how to keep YOURSELF safe when trying this style of self-care. I strongly encourage you to do ALL the stretches and releases in this course.
- If you know how it feels, it is easier to teach others.
- You probably need it.
Please don't skip over any of the introductory information. It's all meant to make sure you have the best possible experience. There is no fluff in this course! After an introduction and safety check, we will review the principles of myofascial stretching. After that, you're ready to start practicing myofascial self-care stretching! The first set of stretches you'll learn doesn't require any equipment, so you can jump right in.
Equipment
You may want to decide what equipment you need early on to continue into the second set of releases. You'll want to be sure you have the equipment ready to go when you get there. You won't want to miss out! This self-care stretching method feels amazing; to best teach it, you need to feel it! More on this later.
Finally, we'll wrap up with ideas on how to move forward and keep your body feeling great!
Therapists and nurses are the most commonly injured professionals in the healthcare industry. Therapists often want to leave direct patient care jobs not because we don't love what we do but sometimes because our bodies just can't do it anymore. I strongly encourage you to spend your time in this course learning to treat yourself with these fascia-informed methods and change your own experience of life.
Have fun!
