Course Introduction and FAQ

Welcome!

This course is designed for occupational therapy professionals, but we welcome any health or wellness professional who wants to help people with temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD). As you will learn, TMD is a potentially debilitating problem growing in people of all ages. We can help and in this course you will learn how.

You can benefit from the information in this course if you are a speech therapist, massage therapist, nurse, physician, chiropractor, mental health therapist, or physical therapist (and others!). We welcome you, too. Just insert your profession where you read occupational therapy. However, it is up to you to understand your scope of practice in your state of practice to determine what treatments you can use and apply. At a minimum, when you encounter a patient or client with TMD, you will know more about how to educate them and who you can refer them to for help.

Course Format

We suggest you give the course outline a scan before you get started. Doing this will help you get a big picture before diving into the details.

At the end of the course, you will find a short quiz to test your knowledge. You can take the quizzes up to 10 times to pass. Don't worry, it is open book. The goal is to learn the key concepts to help your clients. The secondary goal is to get a certificate you can use for continuing education.
